Edible Read: Eat Your Bourbon
Creating America’s only microbrewed soy sauce in bourbon barrels has taken Bourbon Barrel Foods founder Matt Jamie on an international journey that he shares through his love of cuisine, recounted in his new cookbook Eat Your Bourbon.
A “not-so-Southern chef,” Jamie went from being a stay-at-home dad to selling his bourbon- barrel-aged soy sauce to Japan. In the book Jamie gives insight into his company Bourbon Barrel Foods, mingles with award-winning chefs like Chef Edward Lee and shares recipes that use his handcrafted product line of spices, rubs, sauces, cocktail provisions and more.
Eat Your Bourbon combines cuisine from Jamie’s travels abroad with the flavors familiar to the Bluegrass State. Organized by courses, with a distinct bourbon flair, the recipes are designed for every skill level.
