Ingredients
SERVINGS: 1 Cocktail
- 2 ounces rye or bourbon whiskey
- 1 ounce sweet vermouth (I prefer Dolin for cost and quality)
- Angostura Bitters
- Fresh orange
Instructions
Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake about 20 seconds; then, using a Hawthorne strainer, strain into up glass or rocks glass. Using a vegetable peeler, strip long peel from orange, express over top of rocks glass and insert into cocktail.

To make a Rob Roy, replace bourbon or rye with Scotch.
