Oreida Haney’s Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 stick of butter or margarine
  • ½ cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel, core and slice 6 large, mildly tart apples (preferably Winesap). Combine apples with ½ cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  2. Place apple mixture into a lightly greased 8- by 12-inch baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, combine ingredients.
  4. Crumble mixture over apples. Bake at 325° for 1 hour. Serve warm with ice cream.
