Ingredients
- 2 pounds pears, peeled and diced
- 3 tablespoons ginger, finely minced
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup chopped pecans
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ cup butter, softened
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F
For filling:
• Combine pears, ginger, lemon juice, cornstarch and granulated sugar in a bowl and mix to combine.
For crisp topping:
• Mix oats, brown sugar, flour, pecans, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl together. Add in butter; incorporate butter into mixture with a pastry cutter or a fork until it form small clumps.
To assemble:
• Place filling in a greased baking dish and top with the crisp. Spread the crisp out evenly over the filling. Place in the oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until browned on top and bubbly. Scoop and serve with your favorite ice cream.
