IS YOUR DIET BROKEN? FIXE IT!
Fixe is a locavore startup dedicated to connecting area farms with Louisville homes as quickly and conveniently as possible. Fixe works closely with local producers to source the best seasonal ingredients throughout the year. The Fixe culinary team, led by Lindsey McClave, uses the local seasonal ingredients to develop creative recipes for home-cooked meals. All recipes adhere to Fixe’s three core values of taste, health and time. Fixe operates Monday through Friday, with the daily Fixe changing each day. The fixed price is always the same: $25 for two people. Fresh ingredients are picked up each morning, and portioned out for packaging. Orders received by 3pm are guaranteed to arrive at homes or offices no later than 5:30pm that same afternoon. Cooling packets are used so customers need not be home at the time of delivery. ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, GROW!
The West Louisville FoodPort has announced that FarmedHere, North America’s largest and longest-running organic indoor vertical farm business in Chicago, IL, will expand its operations and invest $23.5 million to participate in the much-anticipated FoodPort. Occupying 60,000-squarefeet in the FoodPort, FarmedHere will have 10 rows of vertical grow beds and dedicated space for sorting, packaging and producing 100% USDA certified organic microgreens, herbs, salad dressings, baby food and other products. FarmedHere plans to hire 40 new employees in Louisville, many of which will be veterans and second-chance employees.
Expecting to begin construction this summer, the FoodPort will hold a job fair 1–3pm Tuesday, April 26, at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage, 1701 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd. Per Seed Capital Kentucky’s guidelines, general contractor Messer Construction is expected to resource at least 20% minority-owned businesses and at least 5% womenowned businesses.

Food*Craft aims to make a space where curated products feed a passion for life, creatively celebrating the delicious, beautiful, natural and inspirational things around us.
